As Senior Project Manager, you will be an integral part of a large multidisciplinary, multi-skilled team of engineers working on thermal power generation projects worldwide. The clients and projects can be located anywhere in the world, so the role is challenging and interesting. You will be given hands-on responsibilities for delivering world class thermal power projects. Our work is varied in its nature and the role will primarily include Feasibility Studies, Owner's Engineering work (technical specifications, tenders’ evaluations, design review, construction supervision), Detailed Design, and Technical Advisory for investors and developers. International travel will be a part of the role, including site visits and client meetings. There will be opportunities for short-term and long-term assignments.
We are looking for a motivated person with a genuine passion for excellence and client relationships, with the following attributes:
- Experience in Project management and change management of:
- Owner’s Engineer consultancy services large CCGT power projects;
- Technical Advisory services, lenders due diligence and acquisition due diligence;
- Demonstrable problem solving.
- MSc or BSc in Mechanical Engineering (or other relevant);
- Demonstrable professional experience in the thermal power generation industry, ideally with a mix of EPC contractor, OEM, and consultancy background;
- Experience of project development, procurement, construction, standard contract forms, and team leadership;
- Contract management;
- Hands-on site experience as a Resident Engineer during construction and/or commissioning;
- Developing client relationships and business development;
- Outgoing and proactive, with the ability to work independently and with large teams;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and attention to detail;
- Fluent in English.
- Management of large thermal power plant detailed design services;
- hands-on experience in commissioning, control processes and operating and maintenance of thermal power plants in the UK and overseas;
- Experience of projects and clients outside of Europe, and Middle East, Asia Pacific, Americas;
- Fluency in Italian, additional language(s) desirable (French, Spanish or Portuguese).

- Ensuring that the project team understand the project and contract requirements;
- Manage client expectations;
- Deliver the project on schedule, to quality, to cost and safely;
- Mentoring and development of junior engineers;
- Supporting Account leaders in business development and tendering:
- Contribute to the preparation of proposals and/or cost estimates for energy projects;
- Providing engineering input into projects at all stages (development, procurement, design, construction, operation, sale and acquisition);
- Leading client and technical discipline meetings;
- Project management control and compliance with business processes;
- Attend project sites to:
- Evaluate progress, quality, facilitate resolution of contractual or technical problems;
- Chair project progress meetings with client and contractor;
- Ability to work on international projects and understand and manage country and region-specific factors;
- Flexibility to travel internationally;
- Support in the management of interfaces between the main contractors;
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients;
- Manage and actively identify all critical risks, issues and impacts of the project;
