To be successful in this role you must have excellent critical thinking skills, the ability to handle multifaceted, cross-functional projects, and be able to communicate with partners from different experience levels and cultures. Overall, you will drive collaboration data sharing activities to enable data science that will directly support the scientific research required to get new medicines to our patients.

Accountable for strategy and execution that builds strong relations and effective and efficient business processes with internal and external partners, based on excellent insight of customer needs, Legal, Ethical, and Security considerations, and standard methodology for Data Policy.

**Accountabilities**

You will work with a broad set of partners internally and externally and drive projects to continually improve R&D-wide processes for Data Policy and reuse;
- Collaborate with other members of the Data Office functional units, & the DS & AI community to aid the Data FAIRification process.
- Lead projects, helping internal stakeholders with shaping data sharing projects according to policy
- Accountable for the roll out of the data risk framework across D&D
- Responsible for overseeing the Data Risk Framework and communicating Major and Critical data risks
- Oversee the day to day management of the VQV Risk registers
- Provide Track, Trace and Audit activities and support
- Lead Show & Tell forums to provide data risk relevant contents
- Support R&D wide questions on Data Risk Related items
- Lead projects related to risk mitigation and compliance for data re-use and use
- Lead / mentor junior staff
- Manage the shaping and development of Policy based on internal and external influences, including writing of policy documentation
- Deliver and maintain practices on Data Risk Management within AstraZeneca and be the exemplary thought leader in this area, within AZ.

**Essential requirements**
- Experience of pharma and the life sciences
- Operational understanding of compliance frameworks, data repositories, data management principles, and analytic tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.
- Is motivated by working across global & functional boundaries
- Strong project or programme leadership skills
- Excellent organisational skills, prioritise different projects/priorities and deliver high quality outcomes under pressure
- Travel - willingness to travel domestically & internationally.
- Resilience - ability to overcome and motivate others in the face of a changing environment
