We are currently looking for a Reconciliation Expert to lead the developments and provide the knowledge to have a deep operation of accounts and customer movements.

**As Expert of Reconciliations, your duties will be**:

- ** Responsible for carrying out the analysis, follow-up and development of all necessary reconciliations for an Electronic Money Institution**. This involves comparing and reconciling transactions recorded in the database with the payment processor, accounting system, banks and other vendors that may be involved.
- ** Monitoring of transaction flows**, from authorization notification to accounting.
- ** Developing and implementing tools** to effectively reconcile all global settlement activity.
- ** Investigating and resolving discrepancies.** If discrepancies are found during reconciliations you will need to investigate the causes and take the necessary steps to resolve them in conjunction with a technology and data team. This may involve contacting other departments or external vendors to obtain the necessary information.
- ** Maintain records and documentation**: It is critical to maintain clear and accurate records of all reconciliations performed, including differences identified and actions taken to resolve them. Procedures should be documented to ensure consistency in their resolution that is scalable over the long term.
- ** Collaboration with other departments**. It will be necessary to work closely with other departments, in particular with the financial department to define and provide the necessary information for reporting to the necessary authorities (Bank of Spain, SEPBLAC...). It will also be necessary to have a relationship with the technology and data team in order to automate and provide the necessary tools to solve them.
- ** Implement internal controls**: To avoid discrepancies and minimize errors, the Expert of Reconciliations must establish and maintain effective internal controls in the reconciliation process. This includes periodically reviewing procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to mitigate risks.
- ** Creation of scripts to automate manual financial processes/reporting**.
- ** Reporting and reporting**: must prepare regular reports on the status of reconciliations and discrepancies identified.

**Required skills**:

- ** Experience in a financial institution (+5 years)**: You have previously worked in a financial institution reconciliations for all operations (card payments, transfers...). Ideally, specific experience in the back office of the means of payment area, or banking operations and in the handling of large volumes of transactions and the resolution of discrepancies is sought.
- ** Analytical skills**: The ability to analyze and solve complex problems related to reconciliations is required. This involves strong analytical skills, ability to identify patterns, analyze data and make decisions. Knowledge of tools and how to exploit data to make strategic decisions.
- ** Data Knowledge**: Proficiency in SQL to perform queries independently in the data warehouse. Ability to generate automatic processes (file processing, reports, reconciliations) with Python.
- We are looking for a person with **high attention to detail** to achieve a meticulous review of transactions and with great communication skills to be able to interact with other departments (financial, technology, etc.). This is a very transversal position so it is essential to express yourself clearly and know how to recognize and detect the needs of others, in order to achieve excellent teamwork.
- ** English**: You can maintain a fluent conversation in both Spanish and English.
