Integrated in the Trading area, you will be responsible for the development and operation of the Market Analytics Function, which will inform, support and challenge commercial decision making across the business. The role will report directly Head of Market Analytics and Price Risk.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Driving the linkage between Trading, Energy Parks, and Strategy to develop a strategy to capture and maximize value from proprietary data flows.
Understanding Cepsa’s competitive leverage points and needs of its traders to develop a roadmap that lays out milestones and investment required to build a fit-for-purpose analytics capability including processes, reporting, models and systems.
Participating in the continued development of trading and value delivery, providing the data, market insights and challenges required to inform commercial and trading decisions across Asset Optimisation, Trading and Hedging
Participating and leading in key meetings, including Senior Leadership and Shareholder meetings to ensure that the market outlook and dynamics are understood and considered.
Leading the Market Analytics Function (4-8 FTE), providing the functional leadership, recruiting and development of talent required to build a centre for excellence.
Understanding the global and regional crude oil and refined product market fundamentals, providing expert insight on the economics of:
Key crude and feedstock selection decisions
Major trading decisions
Longer-term commercial commitments e.g., term sales and purchases

**Ensuring the preparation and circulation of key reports**:
Fundamental market analysis and sensitivity analysis (e.g., supply and demand, crack spreads, refining margins).
Market balances and modelling (demand, imports, exports, production) for key markets.
Track refinery turnarounds.
Arb and Crack calculations.
Internal reports on trading decisions/economics.

Developing and maintaining a variety of tools/dashboards/reports for the trading group. These reports need to be reliable and informative.
Building the internal system required to generate value-adding, reliable and accurate proprietary data, and analysis through developing fit-for-purpose:
Data warehousing of external/internal data.
Internal modelling.
Internal programming capability including SQL and various external APIs including with Python scripts.

Ensuring the preparation and circulation of ad-hoc fundamental oil market analysis on the crude and/or specific refined products markets as requested by Traders, Leadership team.
Developing and maintaining excellent communication with colleagues across the commercial team.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
University Degree in a Quantitative Studies (Engineering, Math, Statistics, Physics, or IT).
Proficiency in Spanish and English.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, with a successful track record operating as a senior commodity analyst or manager in a related organisation e.g., PRA, Oil Major, Trading House, etc.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the key building blocks required for developing a fundamental market analytics function.
Excellent knowledge of fundamental market drivers across crude and refined products markets.
Strong mathematics and programming skills.
