The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Lab Technician for Dr. Katherine Villa’s Research Group. This position will be funded by an ERC-StG project (PhotoSwim).
Our mission is to lead, from the vantage point of molecular science, cross-strategies for solving major social and economic challenges, such as climate change and sustainable supply of energetic and raw materials, thereby contributing to the establishment of a knowledge-based economy and improving citizens’ quality of life in our influence area.
**Responsibilities**
- Assist in lab organization and the synthesis of photocatalytic nanoparticles.
- Maintain lab equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
- Analyse the samples by different techniques.
- Organize and store all chemicals substances, and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
**Requirements**:
- Good working knowledge of English (written and oral).
- Good organizational skills.
- Experience in liquid/gas chromatography and fluorescence microscopy would be desirable.
- Knowledge of common laboratory techniques.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.

- Excellent practical laboratory skills and attention to detail.
- Capable of decision-making, creative thinking, and problem-solving.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
**We offer**:

- Remuneration according to the Institute salary scales.
- Annual salary split into twelve monthly payments.
