High Throughput Experimentation Laboratory

The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to work in the High Throughput Experimentation Unit of the Reaction Technologies Department.

The services offered from the HTE Unit are:

- Design and execution of screening campaigns to explore reactivity and chemical reaction space.
- Parallel synthesis.
- Generation of compound libraries.
- Scientific and technical training of researchers in HTE methodology and associated techniques.

**Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Maintenance, checking, calibration and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment (mainly GC-MS, UPLC-MS, SFC, Prep LC-MS and glove box).
- Development of analytical methods using GC-MS/FID, UPLC-MS/DAD, SFC-DAD for compound identification and quantification in complex mixtures.
- Development of data processing methods and data visualization workflows with HTE-analysis software to streamline analysis and interpretation of experimental results.
- Preparation of pre-dosed reaction plates.
- Execution of HTE screening campaigns.
- Run preparative HPLC-MS/DAD purifications to isolate target compounds.
- Help and teach the ICIQ researchers in the use of the Unit instrumentation.
- Management and maintenance of the Unit reagent library.
- Lab organization (inventory, orders, managing repairs ).

**Requirements**:

- BSc degree in Chemistry.
- Chromatography knowledge and experience.
- Organic synthesis knowledge and experience.
- Motivation and ability to solve complex problems.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Good English level.
- Organized and meticulous person.

**Valued qualities**:

- PhD or Master’s degree in Chemistry.
- Previous experience in preparative HPLC purifications.
- Previous experience in HTE.
- Experience in mass spectrometry.
- Data management skills and experience.
- Phyton programming skills.
- Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DoE) and analysis of large datasets.

**We Offer**:

- A permanent full-time employment contract.
- Remuneration according to individual’s qualification/experience
- Annual salary split into twelve monthly payments.

**Tècnic/a Laboratori High Throughput Experimentation (Ref: Technician 2024-02 HTE)**

L'Institut Català d'Investigació Química (ICIQ) està buscant un tècnic/a de laboratori per la unitat de High Thoroughput Experimentation.

Els serveis que ofereix la Unitat HTE són:

- Disseny i execució de campanyes de cribratge per explorar l'espai de reactivitat i reacció química.
- Síntesi paral-lela.
- Generació de biblioteques de compostos.
- Generació de dades d'alta qualitat per a aplicacions d'IA/ML.
- Formació científica i tècnica d'investigadors en metodologia HTE i tècniques associades.

**Responsabilitats**:

- Manteniment, comprovació, calibratge i resolució de problemes d'equips de laboratori (principalment GC-MS, UPLC-MS, SFC, Prep LC-MS i guantera).
- Desenvolupament de mètodes analítics utilitzant GC-MS/FID, UPLC-MS/DAD, SFC-DAD per a la identificació i quantificació de compostos en mescles complexes.
- Desenvolupament de mètodes de processament de dades i fluxos de treball de visualització de dades amb programari d'anàlisi HTE per agilitzar l'anàlisi i la interpretació dels resultats experimentals.
- Preparació de plaques de reacció predosificades.
- Execució de campanyes de cribratge HTE.
- Executeu purificacions preparatives HPLC-MS/DAD per aïllar els compostos objectiu.
- Ajudar i ensenyar als investigadors de l'ICIQ en l'ús de la instrumentació de la Unitat.
- Gestió i manteniment de la biblioteca de reactius de la Unitat.
- Organització del laboratori (inventari, comandes, gestió de reparacions...).
