VHIR offers vacancy/vacant position for a Research Technician (degree in neurosciences, biomedicine, biology or
similar) within the Neurovascular Research Group to work in a Euronanomed Project (ERA-Net Cofund Action on
Nanomedicine) titled**: New MAGnetic Biomaterials for Brain Repair and Imaging after Stroke (MAGBBRIS).**
The Neurovascular Research Laboratory Coordinates the MAGBBRIS consortia with participants from France, Italy,
Poland, Slovakia and Spain, including industrial partnership. MAGBBRIS aims at engineering of novel magnetic
nano-biomaterials to achieve tissue repair in the context of an ischemic event. We will take advantage of
nanotechnology to deliver therapeutic growth factors, secreted by progenitor cells, into the injured brain.
**Education and qualifications**:
Required:
- Degree or Grade in LifeSciences
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Training course in Animal Laboratory Science
**Experience and knowledge: -**
Experience in cell culturing and protein determination techniques (Elisa, western blot, proteomics, etc.).
- Experience in minor animal surgeries such as blood sampling, drug administration, among others.
- Excellent team player since the collaborative nature of the project will require the collaboration with other groups.
- Experience in nanomaterials will be also considered.
**Main responsibilities and duties: -**
Cell cultures, secretome collection and analysis.
- Bio-functional assays (viability, proliferation, angiogenesis).
- Animal surgeries and behavior tests.
- Laboratory tasks in collaboration with the research team (molecular biology).
