**Research position for gene and cell therapies in**

**neuromuscular disorders**

**Therapies and Innovation in Pediatric Neurology + Gene and Cell Therapy**

We are two groups at VHIR working together for several years. Our aim is to develop disease-modifying

therapies in congenital muscular dystrophies, with special interest in type 1A. We are a highly motivated

team with both senior and junior PIs that puts together clinical, translational and basic research experience

for developing therapeutic options for severe, rare, orphan neurological disorders.

We are looking for a pre-doctorate student with previous technical experience in cell and molecular biology

and interest in the development a PhD related to this project.

Bachelor’s and Master's Degree in any biomedical discipline
- Good references for trainers, mentors and/or previous employers in the field
- Fluency in written and oral English

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required: -**

Previous hands-on experience on cell and/or molecular biology
- Abilities at team working

**Desired: -**

Knowledge of cell and/and molecular protocols
- Ability to autonomous daily lab working

**Main responsibilities and duties: -**

Performance of experiments
- Collaboration in sample collection and annotation in neuromuscular disorders
- Participation in laboratory meetings, experiments’ design and result presentation adequate to his level of

expertise
- Participation in publications’ preparation

**Labour conditions: -**

Full-time position: 40 h/week.
- Starting date: immediate.
- Gross annual salary: 17.737,84 € (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale for first
and second year Predoctoral students)
