**Position Overview**

We are currently looking for a caring, friendly and competent teacher assistant to join our team in the Elementary for one year. In this position, you will support the lead teacher and be responsible for supervising students, collaborating in developing lesson plans, preparing lesson material, and maintaining classroom tidiness. Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers in order to coordinate instructional efforts.
- Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations.
- Support children individually or in small groups in order to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
- Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.
- Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
- Organize and label materials, and display students’ work.
- Provide extra assistance to students with special needs, such as non-English-speaking students.
- Take class attendance, and maintain attendance records.
- Assist in bus loading and unloading.
- Assist specialist teachers (library, art, other) in the lesson.

**School-Wide Qualifications and Attributes**
- A Bachelor's degree in education or a relevant field is preferred
- Two years of recent work experience in the Elementary level
- Familiarity with recent North American teaching materials and methodologies
- Experience with data-driven assessment tools that facilitate differentiated instruction
- Reader’s Writer’s Workshop experience and training is a plus
- Evidence of recent professional development activities
- Experience working in an internationally and linguistically diverse school setting
- Effective oral and written communication within a school community
- Familiarity and experience with the Spanish language at the beginner/intermediate level
- Must have a compassionate and positive attitude

**Salary and Benefits**
- ASB assistant teacher salary
- Medical coverage and pension through the Spanish social security system (private health insurance is provided until the employee is legally a part of the Spanish labor system).
- Sick and personal leave in accordance with the Spanish labor agreement for private schools.
- Free three-course lunch on school and teacher work days based on the staff private agreement.
