This position is for the **Payments Hub** team. We are currently extending our cloud native payments processing platform to Santander banks and other financial institutions, with the aim of providing a single access to most domestic and international payment methods at global scale.

**WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING**:
As a **Product Owner **you will be responsible for design and delivery of innovative solutions for our customers in payments sector. You will work with a cross-functional team of software developers, infrastructure engineers and other stakeholders to materialize the product vision, roadmap, and features into value-generating components.

A number of interactions particularly with customer representatives, as well as directly with customers, is expected, to conduct first-hand business needs capturing and refinement, requirements discovery, data analysis or feedback.

As a **Product Owner **your main tasks, duties, and responsibilities will be:

- **Process Flow Analysis and Optimisation**: Analyse existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and model optimised workflows to improve product functionality and user experience.
- **Microservice Management**: Oversee the development and integration of microservices, ensuring they meet business requirements and are scalable, reliable, and secure.
- **Integration Strategy**: Develop and implement integration strategies that enable seamless communication between different systems, using appropriate technologies like REST, RabbitMQ, and Kafka.
- **Product and Feature Ownership**: Take full ownership of the product and its features, guiding them from initial concept through development, launch, and beyond, ensuring continuous improvement based on user feedback and performance metrics.
- **Business-Technology Liaison**: Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and the technology team, translating business needs into technical requirements and ensuring alignment on project goals and expectations.
- **Payment System Management**: Oversee the integration and management of payment processing flows, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and compliant with industry standards and regulations.

**KNOWLEDGE**
- **Process Flows and Modelling**: Expertise in understanding and documenting process flows, alongside proficiency in process modelling tools and methodologies to efficiently map out and optimise processes.
- **Microservice Architecture**: In-depth knowledge of microservice architecture principles, benefits, and challenges, including how to design, deploy, and manage microservices effectively.
- **Integration Concepts**: Familiarity with integration patterns and technologies such as REST APIs, message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka), and how they facilitate communication between different systems and services.
- **Payment Processing Flows**: Comprehensive understanding of payment processing systems, including transaction flows, payment gateways, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance requirements.

- **Analytical and Technical Skills**: Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into actionable processes, alongside strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and optimise workflows.
- **Communication and Negotiation**: Exceptional communication skills to act as an intermediary between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clarity of requirements and expectations on both ends.
- **Leadership in Product Ownership**: Strong ownership of the product and its features, taking responsibility from conception through to post-production, including the handling of updates and iterations based on feedback and performance.
- **Adaptability and Problem-Solving**: Aptitude for adapting to new technologies and problem-solving in dynamic environments, particularly when integrating systems or deploying new services.
