Project Manager, Events

As Project Manager you are responsible for delivering projects of reasonable complexity or workstreams within a larger project or programme and contributing to planning aspects. You have in-depth knowledge and experience in project management to solve complex delivery challenges; take new perspectives using existing solutions and work with mínimal guidance. You are a resource for colleagues with less experience and may have line management responsibility.
Role type: Short term contract until 10th March 2023

About the Role
- Assisting the Event Director with the project management of the Mobile World Congress team coordination, working across functional areas. This responsibility includes the participation in regular project calls such as the weekly coordination call and the head to toes pre-event and debrief post event.
- Manage and distribute information accurately for the Mobile World Congress virtual team for the space allocation and overview of the week projects. Keep a close communication with the team and support the organisation structure of the event.
- Coordinate local suppliers and partners to organise Mobile World Congress related events, such as the Client Consultation Committee meeting and the pre-event press conference.
- Coordinate the logistics for these events within a specific budget and timeframe, select appropriate locations, take care of logistic requirements, catering, GSMA branding visibility and liaise with PR team.
- Manage the relationship with suppliers and partners on a day-to-day basis. Keep a close communication, manage timelines effectively, coordinate their requirements with the GSMA team and follow up on the progress of their performance during the event.
- Support the Senior Project manager in liaising with all stakeholders and the management of programmes such as Ambassadors and our 'Meet & Eat' programme.
- Set up specific planning and timelines for each project, work on the improvements from the previous year, develop a communications plan for each programme and manage it with the marketing department.
- Other Barcelona-specific activities - Owner of Mobile World Congress related projects including but not limited to event uniforms, inventory management, etc. Coordinate Barcelona office social activities and other social events.

- Attention to detail and proficiency in writing, presentations, excel and other office/online tools
- Team player, willing to go the extra mile
- Languages required: English, Spanish and Catalan
