The CRG is composed of an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team supported by a flexible and efficient administration and high-end innovative technologies.We are looking for a Research Trainee (master level) with expertise in molecular and cellular biology to work on a project defining the role of the nuclear localization of a protein in cancer cells. The trainee must have knowledge in immunofluorescence, cell culture, cell transfection and infection, small molecule treatment, and data analysis.About the team/lab/departmentOur laboratory specializes in high-throughput image analysis, subcellular proteomics, transcriptomics, genetic screening, bioinformatics, and cell and molecular biology techniques. We are a group of about 10 people from different cultures and countries. We are part of the genome biology department at the CRG, aiming to understand why metabolic enzymes localize to the nuclear environment and participate in specific chromatin functions.Whom would we like to hire?Professional experienceMust HaveMore than 6 months of experience in a similar roleProven experience in immunofluorescence and image analysisExperience with data analysis, including transcriptomicsFluency in EnglishDesirable but not required/Nice to haveExperience with customizable image analysis pipelinesKnowledge of cancer biology, particularly breast cancerExperience with Western Blot, cell culture, qPCR, and other routine cellular and molecular biology techniquesEducation and trainingMaster's degree in biological sciences or a related field.LanguagesProficiency in English.CompetencesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to perform tasks with minimal supervisionDrive and commitment to produce high-quality experimental resultsStrong organizational skillsAbility to work as part of a teamCollegialityPunctuality in delivering resultsThe Offer – Working ConditionsEstimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales.Target start date: Either the 15th of October or 1st November (2024).We provide a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructures and unique professional career development opportunities.
