This project aims to develop advanced materials through additive manufacturing, with a focus on applying artificial intelligence to enhance X-ray Computed Tomography (XCT) techniques.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, international environment and contribute to pioneering research in material science and AI.PhD Candidate or Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Artificial Intelligence for X-Ray Computed Tomography EnhancementDesignation: PhD Candidate / Post-Doctoral Research AssociateResearch Area: Artificial Intelligence, Material Science, X-ray Computed TomographyFor PhD candidates: Recent Master's graduates (or soon to graduate) in machine learning, computer science, material science, or related fields with excellent academic records.
Pursuing a PhD in the application of AI for image processing is expected.For Post-doctoral candidates: Individuals with experience in AI applied to material science and/or XCT.
A solid background in AI, machine learning, data analysis, and image processing is required.Proficiency in programming, preferably in Python.Full proficiency in English (oral and written).Job Description: The selected candidate will be involved in:Enhancing XCT capabilities through AI for volume reconstruction, noise reduction, and defect segmentation.Collaborating closely with industrial stakeholders and working as part of a team.Developing and implementing AI-based tools for improving XCT pre- and post-processing.Analyzing data and contributing to the advancement of the METALIA project.How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their Curriculum Vitae, a brief cover letter highlighting their motivation for the role, and academic credentials via email to the IMDEA Materials Institute's recruitment department.
