Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer with extensive experience in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical industry.
The successful candidate will perform the function of Senior Civil Engineer on large or complex projects, including green-field and brown-field projects.Key Responsibilities:Perform structural and civil calculations including foundation calculations, piling, earthworks, retaining walls, dynamic calculations, steel structures, and blast resistant buildings.Interpret geotechnical reports.Prepare contract requisitions for civil and structural work on assigned projects.Prepare Job Specifications for civil and structural work on assigned projects.Check, comment, and approve steel shop drawings.Check, comment, and approve precast concrete shop drawings.Coordinate with the civil/structural team and other disciplines.Ensure that all civil/structural engineering works on assigned projects are carried out in accordance with project specifications.Identify circumstances likely to result in contract changes and prepare manhour estimates to support these changes.Advise the Leader Civil Engineer and Engineering Manager of any slippages, their causes, and propose corrective actions.Liaise with specialist consultants and address site queries during construction.Carry out periodic inspections of civil and structural work during construction to ensure correct interpretation of designs and issue completion certificates for structural work.Provide guidance and training to junior and trainee engineers.Keep abreast of developments in the civil and structural engineering field.Perform other duties as assigned by the Leader Civil Engineer and Engineering Manager.Minimum Requirements:BSc (Civil Engineering) / BEng (Civil)More than 10 years relevant experience in Oil Gas Projects (design and calculation)Excellent command of Spanish and English languagesGood organization, written, and oral skillsKnowledge of Spanish and International Standards and Codes (EHE, CTE, EAE, EuroCodes, AISC, ACI, etc.
