The Technical Sales Manager (TSM) role is a critical position within Nextracker, located in Madrid, Spain.
This TSM position entails various responsibilities, including working with key accounts on a global scale, managing technical aspects of Distributed Generation and utility-scale PV (Photovoltaic) projects from their development stages, and providing pre-sales technical and account management support.
Key Responsibilities: Reporting Structure: The TSM will report directly to the Global Sales Engineering Director and work closely with the local regional Sales Director to determine key metrics for success.
Key Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with Engineering and Procurement teams on the customer's side and the Nextracker Account Manager.
Technical Expertise: Manage technical responses for DG and utility-scale PV projects, addressing inquiries, providing solutions, reviewing design and quote documentation.
Design & Engineering Oversight: Define technical scope, respond to technical requests for proposals (RFTs), review project engineering documentation, and provide guidance on value engineering.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with both Nextracker and Client engineers and designers.
Global and Cross-Functional Interaction: Interface regularly with engineering teams in Spain, India, and the US, and work with various internal teams such as Marketing, Project Management, Supply Chain, and R&D.
Customer Interaction: Keep customers informed about Nextracker's product offerings, provide competitive project proposals, and negotiate and close deals.
Learning Opportunities: Gain a deep understanding of both technical and business aspects.
Qualifications: BS/BA in a business or technical field (BS in Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering preferred).
5+ years of solution-based B2B technical pre-sales preferred, program/project management experience.
Knowledge of construction sheet sets and project design of PV plants.
Experience in AutoCAD Civil a plus.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience utilizing Salesforce, CRM, and NetSuite, ERP.
Fluency in English and Spanish; additional language fluency is a plus.
Ability to travel to meet with customers in person 25% of the time.
