What is your great idea?At NetApp, we fully embrace and advance a diverse, inclusive global workforce with a culture of belonging that leverages the backgrounds and perspectives of all employees, customers, partners, and communities to foster a higher performing organization." -George Kurian, CEOJob SummaryAs the Director of Software Engineering in the most senior role within the function, you will utilize strong management and technical competencies to set objectives and develop strategies for the ONTAP Platform Engineering team, with a specific focus on storage and AI.You will work with executive management and have a direct impact on the success of the function in meeting NetApp's goals.Your primary responsibility will be to provide direction and leadership to engineering managers and teams focused on the development of the Next Generation ONTAP Data Platform for AI / ML.These committed teams will be responsible for enhancing existing storage products and developing new products for cloud volumes services, with a strong emphasis on AI and machine learning.Key Responsibilities :Set organizational product / feature design and implementation direction based on understanding market and business needs, with a specific focus on storage and AI technologies.Collaborate with other top-level management and technology heads across the company, actively influencing overall company technology and development strategies in the storage and AI domains.Design, develop, and implement people strategies and plans that enhance the long-term performance and competitiveness of the organization.Utilize previous technical, project, and people management experience to provide direction to senior managers and lead strategic global projects in storage and AI.Work collaboratively with product management to establish strategic plans and objectives for storage and AI initiatives.Participate in corporate development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people within the storage and AI domain.Develop budgets for approval and ensure adherence once the budget is approved, with a focus on optimizing storage and AI initiatives.Foster a deep understanding of the enterprise system software development lifecycle and demonstrate experience in delivering enterprise-quality software in the storage and AI domains
