Lugar Barcelona WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ISGlobal is seeking a Community Health Worker (CHW) to join the Multi-country Viral Hepatitis Community-based Screening, Vaccination, and Linkage to Care (VH-COMSAVAC) study led by the ISGlobal Public Health Liver Group, as well as other research projects related to community-based public health responses to liver diseases in migrant communities, such as metabolic-dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD, formerly NAFLD), metabolic-dysfunction steatohepatitis (MASH, formerly NASH) and viral hepatitis. The Community Health Worker will contribute to these objectives of VH-COMSAVAC by fostering trust within migrant communities and facilitating health interventions. They will be the person responsible for assisting with the project roll out by being a key focal person within the migrant community given that they are familiar with the experiences of the population. This person will work with the target community to build awareness, organize and conduct health outreach and engagement activities, and facilitate viral hepatitis screening and care. This position requires cultural sensitivity, language skills specific to the community, and an active presence within the designated migrant community to ensure a comprehensive approach to healthcare. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Belongs to one of the following migrant communities: West African (French-speaking, Wolof, other relevant languages), North African (Arabic-speaking), South Asian (Urdu, other relevant languages), Chinese, or Romanian. An active, well-respected member of the designated migrant community within Catalonia. Fluent in French, Arabic, Farsi, Chinese, Romanian, English and/or other local language spoken within the community. Working proficiency in Spanish and English; Catalan is an asset. Training in health or community services preferred, but not required. Strong communication skills and cultural competence, with the ability to convey health information sensitively.
