Position Title: Community Health Coordinator Start Date: December 2024 Status: Full-time, 1 year contract Reports to: Public Health Manager Supervises: Community health workers Mission Statement: To improve the quality of life for the Haitian people, particularly women and children.

Role Purpose: Under the supervision of the Public Health Manager, the Community Health Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the implementation of community-based strategies aimed at increasing vaccine uptake in two municipalities in Southern Haiti.
The coordinator will be responsible for assisting with communication efforts, community mobilization, and coordination with local institutions to ensure effective outreach to zero-dose and under immunized children.
The Community Health Coordinator will also oversee and provide guidance to Community Health Workers (CHWs) in these municipalities, ensuring that program activities are effectively carried out, monitored, and documented.
The coordinator will work closely with the Public Health Manager to track vaccine uptake, gather data for reporting, and adjust strategies as needed to meet project goals.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervising CHWs Coordinating with local institutions Supporting communication and mobilization efforts Ensuring accurate monitoring and reporting on project progress This is a national position based full-time in Les Cayes, Haiti.
Essential Duties and Tasks: Provide supervision to CHWs Promote vaccine awareness and integration with other health areas Collaborate with health centers to organize follow-up visits on missed immunization appointments Assess service delivery and provide on-the-job training to health facility staff.
Plan and support community awareness activities to promote immunization.
Assess facility operations and support activities to reach zero-dose and under-immunized children.
Monitor immunization progress, collect data, and report on key indicators.
Document project activities, lessons learned, and success stories, and submit regular reports to the Public Health Manager.
Attend local and regional MSPP and healthcare partners events, trainings, meetings, and other Healthcare Events on behalf of HFH Manage budget lines related to programmatic activities to ensure cost-effective use of resources and submit monthly Purchase Order (PO) requests.
Other tasks as assigned EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Degree in Nursing, Medicine, Healthcare Management, Public Health or a related health profession, with a valid professional title and certification from the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP).
Experience in community health programs Good written and reporting skills Ability to write and speak in English and French or Haitian Creole required Passion and enthusiasm for non-profit work Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and joyful demeanor Ability to work and establish good relationships with co-workers, partners, and non-partners Ability to traverse distances of over 10 kilometers at varying elevations and to move 30 pounds over shoulders.
Advanced skills in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Tools, and Internet PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS THAT ALIGN WITH CORE VALUES: Resiliency: Ability to respond appropriately and sensitively to cultural differences as they arise among the organization's service population Flexible, adaptable, patient and accepting of the fact that Hope for Haiti and its activities are constantly evolving in line with its resources and goals.
Ability to adapt to and make level-headed decisions in stressful situations High energy and strong physical condition, including but not limited to the ability to hike distances over 5 kilometers and lift at least 30 lbs over the shoulders Empower: Ability to conduct and participate in staff meetings and strategic planning professionally and to represent Hope for Haiti's mission to team members and colleagues Accountable: Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize assigned tasks.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: This is a full-time position with benefits after the successful completion of a 90 day probationary period.
This is NOT an accompanied position and housing or transportation will not be provided.
