The Software Development Technical Lead II will play a key role in supporting the team, so leadership experience is required.Main DutiesParticipate in the entire software development life cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deploymentEnsure the quality and performance of the software applications through unit testingProvide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developersSupport the head of department and perform management duties where required, including assisting in the hiring process and new team member trainingStay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in web development and user experience designPropose and maintain the discipline required to fit with Whitespace's ISO 27001 statusCompliance & TrainingAdhere to all company & regulatory policies and procedures as instructedCarry out all training provided to deadlines prescribedWork with compliance on IT relevant areas such as Data Security and Financial CrimeExecute the responsibilities of a company employee acting in a lawful and ethical manner in accordance with your contract of employment and company staff handbookWork with department manager for own professional development, including performance appraisal and identifying and meeting training needs in order to ensure competence and compliance with current regulationsQualifications Experience RequiredExposure to FinTech and/or InsureTechExperience in financial services environmentExperience of coding at a senior level on complex workflowsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentEducation / Training / Qualifications requiredDegree in Computer Science or another subject with significant exposure to numerical disciplinesKnowledge / Skills / Attributes requiredWeb development skills using a modern framework e.g. Angular or ReactKnowledge of relational database systemsKnowledge of concurrency and performanceWilling to work with and/or learn different tools and technologies as requiredExperience working in Cloud based environments, particularly Azure / AWSAttention to detail is keyA self starter, with the ability to work collaborativelyStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent listening, negotiating and presentation skillsUnderstanding of stakeholder managementAbility to work under pressure and to tight deadlinesSolid experience with MS OfficeWillingness to learn and be agile in a fast-paced environmentAbility to listen and retain new information quickly to disseminate to relevant internal stakeholders#LI-CI1 #LI-HYBRIDAdditional Information For over 50 years, Verisk has been the leading data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry by delivering value to our clients through expertise and scale.
