Horizon Europe - ERCReference Number: 01086104Offer Description Job positionThe ERC research project, The Cultural History of the Black Diaspora in Early Modern Spain (BADEMS), is seeking a full time Research Assistant to work on the ongoing research project. In particular, she/he will assist the PI to conduct comparative work with other minority and mainstream confraternities in Spain and Portugal, primarily starting with the study of Afro-Hispanic confraternities in Seville, Cadiz, Madrid, and Granada and later expanding according to findings. This line of research will provide context for the study cases of the project's digital archive and collaborate with other team members. It will use different sets of sources that will be co-analysed, synthesized, and connected in online weekly meetings. Parallel to specific set of sources and analyses, the successful candidate will collaborate with archivists who would reveal study cases, while simultaneously providing context for entries to the digital archive, thus connecting the expertise and work of all members of the project.Job position requirements (skills/languages/required experience)BA in Spanish LiteratureMA in Hispanic StudiesDegrees from renowned programmes of excellence.Experience with archival workExcellent spoken and written English and SpanishSpoken and written Portuguese is an advantage but not a requirement.Experience with dissemination of researchAvailability to start as soon as possible.We offer a Research Assistant full time (35 hours/week) contract of 3 years in a stimulating research environment. The position, benefits and payment are regulated by a research assistant labour contract for research staff at the UAB. The salary is 34.192,32 € added to the Plus Campus corresponding amount and other salary supplements that may correspond (Gross annual).Eligibility criteria:Academic record: BA - 5; Master and BA in the relevant field - 10, PhD in related fields - 5Experience in research support in early modern Spain - 50A cover letter explaining how you meet these criteria must be submitted along with the CV, two letters of reference and a written sample (either published or in progress).Selection process:One single evaluation process based on written application and possibility of interview for the 1-2 candidates with the highest score, unless in application of the agreement of 1st of February 2019, the court proposes other actions, tests and/or interviews to be carried out
