About the Team:
Our Technology team drives the evolution of our Technology, Engineering, Data, Product, and User Experience functions. We shape the digital landscape for our customers, readers, and users.
About the Role:
This role is within the Mobile Team, responsible for building next-generation mobile apps for premium Dow Jones brands. As a Lead Software Development Engineer, you will focus on building and ensuring the delivery of high-quality Android applications and services to our business.
You Will:
Apply agile software development practices and define application architecture models and programming standards.
Design and implement processes for development, testing, monitoring, and change management while setting application development standards.
Collaborate with product teams to manage technical scope and deliverables, identify strategic technical debt, and provide cost/benefit analysis and prioritization recommendations.
You Have:
Four years of Android native Mobile development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
Familiar with data structure, system design, design patterns, API designs, MVP or MVVM, declarative UI, Git, and DevOps.
Full stack background is a huge plus. Familiarity with cloud services, GraphQL, Firebase, etc. is a plus.
A passion for news and creativity to introduce new ideas and technologies. If you have a background in journalism, even better
