Offer Description We offer a postdoctoral position in Nanophotonics at the Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM), a research institute of the Spanish Research Council (CSIC). The work will be devoted to the study of the phenomena that emerge at the frontiers between nanomechanics and nanophotonics, opening the door for a plethora of novel applications in quantum sensing by using optomechanical devices. The main goal of this project is the strategic employment of Artificial Intelligence (AI), with a specific focus on deep learning and neural networks. The intention is to revolutionize optomechanical coupling processes within photonic and phononic crystals. By achieving this, we aspire to create a state-of-the-art, room-temperature quantum sensor. The ideal profile is a PhD in physics or electrical engineering with expertise in optics; skills in nanofabrication are also desirable. This team member will be in charge of the tasks associated with device fabrication and optomechanical characterization of the devices.
