.DESCRIPTIONThe Global Security Organization (GSO) is hiring a Principal Program Manager to join the Global Physical Security team and lead Physical Security Design. The mission of GSO is to support Amazon's Worldwide Operations, as well as affiliate and retail businesses, by creating and maintaining a work environment that is both prepared and secure through global security centers of excellence staffed by subject matter experts in people and asset protection. We accomplish this by creating policy and implementation guidelines; training leadership andstaff; using technology to eliminate subjectivity, complexity, and variation; identifying, preparing for, and mitigating risk; and auditing our practices to ensure compliance. We are seeking a Principal Program Manager to lead the creation of a strategic framework around risk driven physical security design and contribute to our larger team goals and objectives.The role requires working with regional teams on standardizing physical security designs globally, development of global risk driven security frameworks, policies, standards and staying appraised to the latest developments in the industry. The role will require coordinating and influencing many stakeholders across multiple geographies and organizations.The ideal candidate for this job should be a self-starter who thrives in dynamic and innovative environments. They should be able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, taking initiative to prioritize tasks and manage their own workload. Additionally, they should possess strong organizational skills, positively work through ambiguity and anticipate the needs of customers.Technical Cross-domain expertise is necessary to be successful in the security field. You are expected to be an expert, relative to your level, in the core sub-areas:* Physical Access Control Systems, Methodology and applications* Intruder detection systems, methodology and applications* Video System Management, camera systems and applications* Design Physical Security Systems* Physical Security hardware, methodology and applications* Security Management Practices* Security tendering process* Operational Security* Law, Investigations, and Ethics* Physical Security* Holistic, ergonomic, Health & Safety and end to end project considerationsExpectations of Principal Program Manager typically include:* You drive clarity and deliver with complete independence even if you may not even know what the problem is before starting.* You generally work across organizations. You have broad strategic influence. You align teams and orgs toward simple, coherent approaches.* Your work is strategic. You own a very large programs managing significantly complex and important initiatives that resolve critical and/or endemic problems.* You identify risks/opportunities in strategies and/or org structure(s). You can make trade-offs: business opportunity vs. resources vs. sustainability
