ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry.Lugar Barcelona, Campus MarWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ISGlobal is looking for a full-time Geographic Information System (GIS) technician to join our team in childhood and environment. The candidate will work on the "Determinantes Ambientales de la Salud: proyecto multicéntrico a partir de Encuestas Poblacionales de salud (DAS-EP)" Project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (PI22/01051). The position will involve GIS data collection, processing and analysis for the estimation of air pollution levels.KEY RESPONSABILITIES GIS data collection, processing and analysis using Python or R, PostgreSQL/PostGIS and QGISDevelopment of efficient Python-based workflows to process spatial data to conduct exposure assessmentData quality control and validationAUXILIAR TASKS This job description reflects the present requirements of the post but may evolve at any time in the future as duties and responsibilities change and/or develop providing there is appropriate consultation with the post-holder.This job description is not a definitive or exhaustive list of responsibilities but identifies the key responsibilities and tasks of the post holder. The specific objectives of the post holder will be subject to review as part of the individual professional assessment process.TRAINING EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS Master/Course in GISTraining and/or experience in related technologies (Spatial Databases, Spatial Analysis, Remote Sensing)Training and/or experience in Data Science (basic Statistics, processing of complex and large datasets)Training and/or experience in programming (Python, R or any other language)SKILLS Motivated researcher capable of setting and meeting deadlines and delivering research outputs to the required standardStrong organization and team-working skillsProfessional attitude with attention to detailsEffective verbal and written communication skillsTeam player, yet capable of working autonomously, rational and critical thinkerThe post holder will adhere to ISGlobal principles contained in People management policy, including Equity, diversity and health safety.
