Job Title: System Admin Location: Lexington MA Job Type: W2 Contract Background/Need Communication Systems and Cyber Security Division to support G62 Advanced RF Techniques and System. You will assist with development of new technologies that enable worldwide networked operations for the military and other government agencies. The division addresses the needs of nextgeneration satellite airborne and terrestrial networks using its core expertise in radio frequency (RF) fiber and freespace optics cyber security network protocols and services information operations communications processing and speech and language technologies. The division is extensively involved in field experimentation and measurement campaigns to verify algorithms and architectural concepts in operational environments.
Looking for a Linux Systems Administrator. This candidate will be working 80% on a Linux platform and 20% on Windows. Candidate should have in depth Linux experience. A successful candidate will be adept at working within a small fastmoving team.



Job Functions:
Looking for a Linux Systems Administrator with approximately 5 years of Linux administration experience
Domains: IT Infrastructure Networking system configuration management system troubleshooting.
Responsible for management administration and support of IT systems infrastructure in Group.
Support additional technologies as they are adopted by the Laboratory.
Responsible for vulnerability remediation on secure and unclassified Laboratory systems. Addressing Cat 1 2 3 issues in a timely manner
Recognizing and troubleshooting issues with developers machines as they occur across a variety of Operating Systems. Windows Linux etc.
Perform all related duties as assigned.



Technical Skills:
Operating Systems: RedHat Enterprise Linux VMware
Hardware: Dell
Software/applications: RedHat Satellite McAfee; Enterprise Central Logging/Splunk LDAP VMware vCenter/ESXI/vSAN Gitlab.
Networking applications and protocols: TCP/IP DNS NTP SSH FTP and
Programming Languages: Ansible Shell Scripting PowerShell or Bash.
Skilled at centralized authentication (SSSD IDM Active Directory) and centralized sudo administration via IDM
Responsible for configuring and maintaining (physical and virtual) servers and researcher workstations
Install update and troubleshoot systems/servers.
Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
Plan execute and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures.
Conduct periodic system maintenance including cleaning (both physically and electronically) disk checks routine reboots data dumps and testing.
Provide ongoing optimization and problemsolving support



Preferred Skills/Certifications:
Experience managing classified IT systems STIGs SCAPS RMF. This experience is a bonus
Certification(s) in one or more of the following disciplines: Red Hat VMWare Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); CompTIA Security; Linux Professional Institute Certification. Candidate will be required to obtain a CompTIA Security certification within 36 months of starting if they do not have one when assignment begins.
Experience managing system/server resources including performance capacity availability serviceability and recoverability.
Mac experience
Experience with virtual machines. (e.g. VMWare vSphere Citrix XenDesktop/Server Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud etc.).
Network administration experience is also desirable which includes managing data center and small network configurations: switches routers firewalls modern software management and monitoring tools some knowledge of automation technique.
Experience maintaining directory services. (e.g. Microsoft Active Directory LDAP etc.).


Interim Secret is acceptable for start but Active Secret Clearance strongly preferred
Education & Experience: 5 Years of relevant work experience.
Work Authorization: US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
