Join the exciting EU Consumables Private Brands team as Senior Packaging Manager.Key Responsibilities:Analyzing customer needs to develop an optimal product packaging strategy, leveraging the unique opportunities being an online brand can provide. This includes the full process for selection and approval of primary and secondary packaging materials and visual identity, in coordination with brand, category teams, and creative design partners.Development and implementation of outer packaging strategy and shippable containers appropriate for e-commerce - reducing shipping costs, ensuring undamaged product, and minimizing waste for consumers.Transforming existing portfolio to reduce environmental impact, cut costs, and future-proof it for upcoming legislation.Leading and coordinating design efforts between internal teams and outside vendors to develop optimal packaging solutions, including transversal initiatives with packaging suppliers to optimize packaging costs and time to launch.Maintaining accurate specifications for packaging materials and procedures.Providing technical support for root cause analysis of customer complaints related to packaging.Evaluating vendor prototypes and providing improvements/suggestions or alternative solutions.Supporting the development of new packaging innovations that unlock new areas of opportunity.Advising senior management on the latest packaging trends and optimal solutions.Minimum Requirements:B.S. Degree in Packaging Science, Graphics Design, or related field.5+ years of experience in designing packaging solutions.In-depth knowledge of standard industry packaging and printing practices.Knowledge and experience with various substrates such as folding cartons and corrugated, design and production of prototypes, and new product development.Understanding of packaging qualification practices and standards, and experience meeting production supply chain, product fulfillment, transportation, and agency requirements.Experience using MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and related software.Hands-on project leadership experience, ideally within retail or FMCG.Fluency in English and an additional European language are a must.Masters Degree.Experience managing local and international packaging suppliers.Experience running common packaging software such as AutoCAD, TOPS, Adobe Illustrator, and similar products.Experience with developing unique test protocols and procedures.Knowledge of standard cost systems to optimize profitability for new packaging designs or concepts.Knowledge of materials, finishes, and processes employed in the development of consumer finished goods packaging, electronics transportation, and bulk packaging
