As the Vehicle Development Instrumentation Technician, you will have responsibility for the fitment of all test instrumentation to our fleet of development vehicles and rigs, at both the Idiada Proving Ground in Spain and at test locations.What You'll DoWork with Engineers and Technicians on the integration of instrumentation onto prototype & development vehicles.Update group records of all Development vehicles and the level of instrumentation each vehicle is running with.Assist with vehicle testing activities and the analysis of data using automotive tools (CANape, Monaco, HSL, ATLAS, CANalyzer).Knowledge of CAN based tools and loggers such as Vector GL series and PCan pro.Manufacture and repair automotive, autosport and System 25 Harnesses to a high standard.Maintain accurate and reliable Indysoft tracking system as well as corresponding sensors within required calibration.Travel to other testing sites globally will be required.Maintain and update instrumentation of such vehicles and rigs to support development programmes.Prepare and operate instrumented vehicles for test and development activities at multiple locations, including industry proving grounds and racing circuits.Interact with engineering staff to establish and achieve requirements, specifications, and targets.Interpret engineering drawings and instrumentation schedules to ensure safe and accurate builds, modifications, and updates.Coordinate with Electrical Technician and offer support as required for electrical repairs and reworks.Maintain the instrumentation and electrical laboratory as well as the equipment to the standards set by McLaren in conjunction with the Electrical Technician.Subject to the appropriate level of internal driving standard being achieved, the candidate may be required to drive high-value, high-performance cars in workshop, road and testing environments.What You'll BringKnowledge of MAT systems, both hard & soft.Data analysis tools such as ATLAS.Hardware such as High Speed Logger.Knowledge of CAN bus architecture.Ability to use tools such as CANape, CANalyzer & ETAS systems.Knowledge of and ability to manufacture and repair automotive, autosport and System 25 harnesses.Understanding of control systems.Excel, generation of forms and maintenance of VB macros.Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Project, PowerPoint & Microsoft Visual Studio IDE.Experience with CATIA product development platform or similar.What We'll Do for You.Who Are We?No restraints.
