Newsroom Friday, May 13, 2022 Reading time: 3 min The General Assembly of the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Machine Tools, Components, Tools and Accessories was held in the Auditorium of the Gipuzkoa Science and Technology Park. José Pérez Berdud has been elected president of the association of manufacturers of machine tools, components, tools and accessories, AFM Advanced Manufacturing Technologies , for a period of two years, during the annual meeting of the association. José Pérez Berdud , 55 years old and native of Zumarraga (Gipuzkoa), is a Technical Electronic Engineer and Master MBA from Mondragon Unibertsitatea. He has carried out all of his work activities in Fagor Automation since he began working in 1993 as a technician in the Research and Development department. He has held different positions in the company, related to manufacturing, logistics, and purchasing, occupying industrial management from 2005 to 2016, the year in which he moved to the position of CEO / general director. Fagor Automation, a company dedicated to the development and manufacture of automation and machinery control products, employs almost 700 people. With a history of more than 40 years, it has 14 subsidiaries and more than 30 of its own offices spread throughout the world. It has its own technology center, Fagor Aotek, with 36 active patents and dedicates more than 10% of sales to R&D&I, in addition to having around 90 researchers, 12 of which are doctors. The new president of the sector association also has extensive experience at AFM, of which he has been a director since 2016. In addition, he is a delegate of CECIMO, the European manufacturers' association of which AFM has been a part since 1962. In parallel with the AFM general assembly in which the new president was elected Perez Berdud and his term has ended Cesar Garbalena , the assemblies of four other associations that make up the AFM Cluster have been held, specifically ADDIMAT, ESKUIN, AFMEC and UPTEK . At the ADDIMAT assembly, the appointment of Mariel Diaz Company TRIDITIVE , as president of ADDIMAT, replacing Jaume Homs of HP.
