The University Hospital Vall d'Hebron is highly specialized in rare diseases on a Regional, national and international levelwith its incorporation as full member of 20 of the 24 European Reference Networks (ERN).The scientific direction of the ERN-EuroBloodNet,, the ERN dedicated to Rare HematologicalDiseases (RHD), is led by Dr Mañú Pereira, head of the Rare Anemia Disorders research lab within the "CANCER YENFERMEDADES HEMATOLOGICAS INFANTILES" group.Our research strategy is focused on the development and validation of innovative methodological approaches for bettercharacterization of patients affected by rare anemia disorders according to their individual features to allow personal riskprofiles and personalized medicine.Within the ERN-EuroBloodNet and in line with the strategy at European level, the team is leading several projects onEuropean patients' registries for rare haematological diseases, aiming at avoiding fragmentation of data by promoting thestandards for patient registries' interoperability.In this context, we are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven and committed professional who will support our groupin databases management, databases interoperability and IT related tasks.JOB DESCRIPTIONEducation and qualifications:Required:– University degree in area of engineer, computer science (e.g.IT Engineer, Computer Science) or Universitydegree in sciences with a Master's degree in a field related to the responsibilities of this job position (e.g.Bioinformatics, Statistics)Experience and knowledge:Required:– Knowledge on data architecture– Knowledge on computer systems (to be able to lead discussions with different IT teams, to propose improvementsto the platform)– Knowledge of programming languages (PHP, HTML, SQL)– English (B2).We are working at European level and have frequent meetings in EnglishDesired:– Knowledge on common data models– Experience with multidisciplinary teams– Knowledge of R/PythonMain responsibilities and duties:– Design of databases (SQL y non-SQL)– Data batch transfers– Integration of databases and ETL process– Implementation of pseudonymization tool suggested by European Commission– Management of the platforms use for data collection– Lead discussions with different IT teamsLabour conditions:– Full-time position: 40h/week.– Starting date: immediate.– Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills.Salary ranges are consistent with ourCollective Agreement pay scale.– Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities (3 years).What can we offer?– Incorporation to Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), a public sector institution that promotes and developsthe biomedical research, innovation and teaching at Vall d'Hebron University Hospital (HUVH), the biggesthospital of Barcelona and the largest of Catalan Institute of Health (ICS).– A scientific environment of excellence, highly dynamic, where high-end biomedical projects are continuouslydeveloped.– Continuous learning and a wide range of responsibilities within a stimulating work environment.– Individual training opportunities.– Flexible working hours and hybrid work.– 23 days of holidays + 9 personal days.– Flexible Remuneration Program (including dining checks, health insurance, transportation and more)– Corporate Benefits: platform through which you can obtain significant discounts on travel, culture, technology,gastronomy, sports… among many others.How to apply:Applicants should submit a full Curriculum Vitae and a cover letter with the reference "Data engineer/ Data architect" tothe following email addresses: and Deadline to apply: 14/06/2024.
