Amazon is seeking a self-motivated and creative individual as a PR Manager for the retail function in Ireland. They will be responsible for leading consumer campaigns for large scale shopping occasions such as Prime Day and Black Friday, creating activity that demonstrates the value customers get while shopping with Amazon, and providing corporate and press office support to highlight the positive role the company plays in Ireland. This role will be part of the International Stores Comms organisation at Amazon and will report to the Head of Consumer Communications for the UK & Ireland.
The candidate should demonstrate a proven track record for managing effective consumer campaigns for large, fast-moving organisations in Ireland, including delivering earned media, social media, and influencer relations activity. They will have a deep understanding of the earned and social media landscape in Ireland, be passionate about their craft, be an excellent writer, and have an ambition to do great, meaningful work. The candidate should also have experience managing reactive media queries, handling reputational issues, and providing counsel to senior internal stakeholders on reputation strategy. The successful candidate will be an outstanding communicator, who can collaborate closely with teams throughout the business, as well as with stakeholders outside the business including media, influencers, creators, and agency partners. They should enjoy working in a fast-paced, start-up culture, and will have experience in either an agency or in-house role.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and manage integrated PR campaigns around key retail momentsDeliver campaigns and launches around shopping innovationsWrite campaign plans, messaging, and media-facing materialsBuild relationships with key media, and be able to pitch and secure top tier coverageDeliver strategic counsel to internal executives on PR challenges and opportunitiesWork closely with agencies and wider international teams to devise and implement PR activityWork closely with internal teams across the business to deliver projects to deadlineSuccessfully manage fast-moving, complex PR challenges from both the business and the mediaSupport with issues management and crisis comms related to the Ireland retail business, working in partnership with other PR and Public Policy teamsKey Skills:PR expert: a demonstrated feel for what works for a brandStrategic: ensuring that PR activity delivers against business objectives and articulates key messagesCollaborative: team player with a willingness to work hard and roll up sleeves to get work doneMoves fast: strong bias for action but maintains exceptionally high standards on the work and the resultsTactically aware: knowledgeable about what's going on in the media and with the brandProactive: enjoys taking responsibility and making things happenOrganised: able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while managing essential admin workLeadership: able to lead agencies to deliver and demonstrate responsibility for PR to senior managersAdaptable: able to work in a complex corporate environment and get things doneCurious: asks questions, dives deep into data to find interesting stories, eager to learnExercises good judgment: advising others on the best course of action and managing media enquiriesSocial and influencer minded: able to build integrated campaigns that leverage new and emerging digital media including social and influencersBASIC QUALIFICATIONSSeveral years of experience in a communications role either within a PR agency or in-houseExtensive experience that demonstrates a comfort in dealing with high-level consumer & corporate media contacts across news, lifestyle, and broadcast sectorsStrong writing skillsHands-on experience of digital and social media as well as influencer marketing / communicationIssues management experience including development of messaging and Q&A documentsStrong competency in basic Office software (Outlook, Excel etc.)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSRetail background: knowledge of the Irish retail and digital industries
