Your mission As Director of Scientific Research and Evaluation, your role is multifaceted, encompassing both strategic leadership and hands-on involvement in scientific research and evaluation processes. Your role is pivotal in driving scientific excellence, fostering innovation by identifying, evaluating, and monitoring trends and new innovations tailored to the overall portfolio strategic targets, and ensuring the quality and impact of research outcomes within the organization.
The position will report to the Chief Scientific Officer.
Responsibilities Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for scientific research and evaluation activities together with the R&D management team in alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Identify research priorities, allocate resources effectively, and set clear objectives to drive scientific innovation and advancement.Research Oversight: Serve as a scientific and technical reference point for the development teams, offering guidance and expertise in the design, execution, and analysis of research projects, including non-clinical development (non-clinical safety studies for the conduct of human clinical trials and marketing authorization for pharmaceuticals)Evaluation Framework Development: Establish evaluation frameworks and methodologies to assess scientific research initiatives' impact, effectiveness, and outcomes. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure progress and success.Data Analysis and Interpretation: Lead efforts to analyze research data, interpret findings, and draw meaningful conclusions to inform decision-making and strategy development. Utilize statistical techniques and data visualization tools to communicate research insights effectively.Collaboration and Partnerships: Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including academic institutions, research organizations, industry partners, and regulatory agencies. Identify opportunities for collaborative research projects, joint funding initiatives, and knowledge exchange.Grant Writing and Fundraising: Lead efforts to secure external funding for research projects through grant writing, proposal development, and fundraising activities. Cultivate relationships with funding agencies, foundations, and philanthropic organizations to support research initiatives.Team Leadership and Development: Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to research staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in life sciences, pharmacology, or related field.A minimum of 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, business development, or related roles, with a focus on search and evaluationKnowledge and experience in rare disease specially in Pulmonary and neurological disorders.Expert Know-How of the end-to-end processes in drug development, regulatory requirements, industry trends and product value assessment.Ability to synthesize and integrate multiple sources of information to provide concise insights and recommendations.Ability to deal with ambiguity and objectively challenge and influence senior stakeholders and provide alternate solutions.Strong leadership skills with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and creatively about external opportunities and partnerships.Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results in a matrixed organization.If this great challenge matches your profile, then we are waiting for you
