The role of Packaging Procurement Specialist is a key part of Unilever's supply chain, responsible for managing packaging material supply and mitigating risks through innovative solutions.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering results, working well with others, and building strong partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop procurement strategies to support business needs.
- Manage service for packaging material supply, mitigating upcoming supply/service risks through creative solutions.
- Monitor capacity and capability at suppliers, ensuring continuity of supply and liaising with contract coverage on key materials.
- Manage mould health and refurbishment projects, including capex management.
- Lead and support global and/or regional negotiations.
- Execute contract negotiations, leveraging digital tools as needed.
- Follow market conditions and lead price forecasting cycles to enable proper budgeting and cash forecasting.
- Contribute to packaging sustainability commitments, including metrics such as NDPE and plastic reduction.
- Deliver net productivity (cost savings/value creation).
- Optimize packaging design to be cost-effective while serving its technical and consumer purpose.
- Identify and implement value chain intervention projects to bring efficiency to Unilever's supply chain.
- Create and manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure we are a partner of choice.
- Identify and bring supplier-driven innovation ideas to the business and market to drive growth.
- Collaborate with R&D and technical expert teams to ensure integration of technical and commercial programs.
- Evaluate and maintain resilient material supply chains within sourcing strategies.
- Reduce overall complexity within the portfolio.
- Adopt and deploy the digital agenda in your markets.
- Maintain proper levels of supplier service and quality.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
- Minimum three years working experience in procurement or supply chain (preferably within FMCG).
- Experience in managing supplier relationships and leading negotiations.
- Familiarity with cost modeling and contracting strategies.
- Basic understanding of finance.
- Strong communication skills, including concise communication to internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to work in a global virtual network with teammates based across the world.
- Strong analytics skills, including knowledge of Excel.
- Proficient in negotiation models and techniques.
- Comfortable with systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, SAP CLM, and more.
