We are seeking a Data Center Critical Environment Manager to join our Spain-Portugal team, working directly with our Data Center Site Managers.

This role will be responsible for the development, roll-out and continuous improvement of customers projects, services, and reports. Edged is highly selective about the people we bring on board because our mission depends on it.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Establishing strong working relationships with customers
  2. Overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a datacenter
  3. Managing and organizing the planned preventative and corrective electrical and/or mechanical equipment according to customer requirements
  4. Ensuring that electrical, mechanical, and/or fire/life safety equipment within the client data hall are operating at peak efficiency
  5. Ensuring compliance with infrastructure operations standardization
  6. Acting as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the datacenter, escalating to the Operations Team as needed
  7. Management of small-to-medium projects from conception to completion
  8. Ensuring routine reporting for critical infrastructure, inclusive of operational and maintenance KPIs, objectives, organizational policies, procedures, and standards
  9. Driving cost/energy efficiency projects
  10. Identifying single points-of-failure at client infrastructure
  11. Coordinating, planning, scheduling, and supervising audits and compliance verifications
  12. Driving identification and remediation of vulnerabilities
  13. Providing recommendations on new data center equipment designs, technologies, and construction methods
  14. Sharing best practices, assisting others in learning role, process, procedures, and mentoring others
  15. Promoting a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of datacenter activities
  16. Driving data analytics, metrics, and interpretation of a complex environment to identify inefficiencies, opportunities, exceptions, and correlations
  17. Ensuring quality, up-to-date documentation exists for all service arrangements
  18. Achieving consistent customer satisfaction ratings and responding appropriately to customer feedback on areas for improvement
  19. Developing and providing a training program to support implementation and operations for our clients
  20. Implementing and driving a "lessons learned" approach

Skills & Requirements

  1. Problem-solving aptitude and advanced knowledge of lean operational methodologies
  2. Experience mentoring and leading project management professionals is desired but not required
  3. BS or BA in a technical field, or commensurate experience
  4. 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in a mature engineering or operations environment
  5. Experience in large-scale planning and coordination, delivering multiple concurrent projects on tight timelines
  6. A solid understanding of enterprise-level infrastructure is desired
  7. ITIL certification is a plus
  8. Knowledge of critical environment concepts and infrastructure (e.g., Electrical Distribution, Mechanical Cooling Systems)
  9. A solid understanding of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting
  10. Project or program management experience and certification(s) (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, PMI, Agile)
