Job Role :

We are looking for an Event Assistant to help organise our Events. You will be responsible for every

aspect of an event, from choosing venues to evaluating success afterwards. You will work closely with

the Event Coordinator.

An Event Assistant must be well-organised and competent in vendor management. Communication

skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among the candidates. Add a shot of enthusiasm

and passion for the job and you'll be our ideal candidate.

Responsibilities :

  • Understand the requirements for each event
  • Plan events with attention to financial and time constraints
  • Book venues and schedule facilitators
  • Research vendors (catering, decorators, musicians etc.) and choose the best combination ofquality and cost - negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favourable terms, which could be in-kind arrangements
  • Hire day workers if required
  • Manage event operations
  • Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems

Requirements and skills :

  • Proven experience as an Event Assistant or affinity with organising events or activities
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
  • Well-organised with multi-tasking skills
  • Able to handle stress and remain calm
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Degree in hospitality management, public relations or relevant field is preferred
  • Fluent in English and preferably Spanish or French
