Apply to this job opening and we will be delighted to meet youWho we are looking for We are looking for a simulations engineer with a startup mindset to develop and optimize Inmersia’sproprietary optics simulation platform , that lies at the heart of the development of next-generation of Inmersia’s near-eye display. The main objective is to expand the software suite by implementing new features thataccurately capture complex optical behaviourwith a special attention on optimal usage ofcomputational resources .What you will do Identifycorrectphysical framework (s) to accurately describe complex optical scenarios Implementthe correspondingnumerical solutionsinMATLAB/Pythonensuringefficient use of computational resources Testcode andapplythe developed solution toreal experimental scenarios Ensuresmooth collaboration within the optics simulations teamby clearly documenting the code, implementing its version control and managing the repositories Ensuresmooth collaboration with the optics design teamby implementing easy interfacing of the custom simulations with third party software such as Zemax Createtechnical documentationfor theintellectual propertyteamWhat technical skills you have Absolute essentials DeepunderstandingofOptics(ray, wave, electromagnetics) Experience indeveloping simulationsin MATLAB/Python Ability to bothimplement and build(i) numerical methods, (ii) finite element methods and (iii) finite-difference time-domain methods for electromagnetic problems Basic experience withGPU accelerationusing CUDA and Python packages such as CuPy, Numba, etc.Valuable extras Experience in developing simulations in low-level languages such as C# or C++ Experience in image processing and computer vision Ability to implement simulation optimization routinesWhat education you have PhD degreeinPhysicswith a focus on optics simulations with2 yearsof additional relevant experience, ideally in AR/VR. Alternatively,Master’s degreeinPhysicswith6 yearsof experience in developingoptics simulations , preferably for advanced custom optical elements.
