Please do not contact the recruiter directly.Introduction to the vacant position: The Bacterial Infection and Antimicrobial Therapy Group is looking for a Senior Laboratory Technician to work on the development of new technologies to treat chronic bacterial infections. Main tasks and responsibilities: Responsible for laboratory experiments in the field of biofilms (advanced techniques in biofilm growth, imaging, and characterization). Sample Imagining and analyzing by confocal microscopy. Use of nanoparticles to deliver antimicrobials in bacterial biofilms. Maintenance, bacterial infection and treatment inGalleria mellonellaanimal model. Cell culture manipulations and infections. Requirements for candidates: Essential: Ph. D. Degree in life sciences (biology, biotechnology, biomedicine). 2 years at least of similar experience. Hight degree expertise in Microbiology and Bioengineering specifically in biofilms and design and handling microfluidic devices. Expertise in drug delivery systems (Nanoparticle characterization and bacterial efficacy analysis). Expertise for at least 5 years in advanced confocal microscopy. List of more than 10 research article publications in high-impact journals. High level of English and Catalan. Advantageous: Use ofGalleria mellonellaanimal model of infection.
