We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Coordinator to join our growing Early Years team at ELIS Villamartín, one of Spain's leading British curriculum schools. This exciting opportunity is perfect for an individual who is passionate about nurturing young learners in a supportive, international environment.

Our Early Years department fosters a stimulating and inclusive environment where children can explore, learn, and thrive. As part of a vibrant and professional team, the successful candidate will have the chance to inspire and shape the early educational experiences of our youngest students, supported by excellent facilities and a strong sense of community.

We are looking for someone to lead this thriving section of the school who shares our commitment to delivering exceptional education and supporting every child to achieve their full potential.

Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning:

  1. Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  2. Foster creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning through play-based and structured activities.
  3. Monitor and assess individual progress, using observations and assessments to support children's development.

Leadership:
  1. Lead and manage the Early Years team, motivating and inspiring them with a shared sense of direction, pride, and energy.
  2. Support the Head of Lower School in providing a clear vision and direction for the Development of Lower School.
  3. Identify staff training and developmental needs through the performance management process.
  4. Contribute to the development and maintenance of a Lower School Development Plan.
  5. Keep all staff informed about the organization of day-to-day operations and future planning.
  6. Oversee the coordination of reports, ensuring their accuracy and quality.
  7. Support the Head of Lower School in planning and creating timetables for each academic year.

Pastoral and Behavioural Support:
  1. Provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment that supports children’s emotional and social well-being.
  2. Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and respect for others.
  3. Work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to support children’s learning and development.

Collaboration and Professional Development:
  1. Work closely with the Early Years team to ensure high-quality practice across the department.
  2. Participate actively in professional development opportunities and school initiatives.
  3. Contribute to the planning and delivery of school-wide events, activities, and enrichment programmes.

Other Responsibilities:
  1. Support the development of classroom resources and environments that inspire young learners.
  2. Adhere to school policies, including safeguarding and health and safety procedures.

Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Essential: A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education.
  2. Desirable: Experience working in an international or British curriculum school.

Knowledge and Skills:
  1. A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. The ability to plan, deliver, and assess engaging learning experiences.

Personal Attributes:
  1. A warm, caring, and approachable personality.
  2. A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to their holistic development.
  3. Proactive, adaptable, and a team player.
