Position: Product Engineer Compressors

As a Product Engineer Compressors in MAHLE, you will be part of the product engineering team developing the AC compressors. Current product teams are developing and producing a product portfolio consisting of Mechanical variable displacement compressors and electrically driven compressors.

Responsibilities:
  1. Designing and developing AC compressor components.
  2. Developing and authoring engineering specifications for components and assemblies to be used in manufacturing facilities to mass-produce compressor components and assemblies.
  3. Creative, diagnostic and innovative problem solving as applied to engineering problems.
  4. Utilize DFMEA/PFMEA processes to provide a robust design prior to mass production.
  5. Blueprint reading and interpretation & specification of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  6. Assist with preparation and execution of test units.
  7. Understand A/C compressor tests efficiently and correctly.
  8. Analyze test data and organize results relative to internal or customer specifications with observations and conclusions.
  9. Apply engineering practices to reach design solutions.
  10. Participate in innovation, product cost and quality improvement initiatives.
  11. Participate in cross-functional teams related to customer program launch activity.
  12. Work with suppliers and manufacturing plants to ensure product design for high value and manufacturability.
Required Skills:
  1. BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or higher.
  2. Experience developing precision Mechatronic products is required in development of precision products for 5+ years.
  3. Understanding of principles of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, strengths of materials, thermodynamics, physics (mechanical and electrical), and engineering design.
  4. Automotive/Residential/Commercial HVAC development experience is highly desired.
  5. Experience with full Product cycle life development up to production.
  6. Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Basic 3D modeling.
  7. Good interpersonal skills.
  8. Good written and oral skills – ability to convey technical concepts.
  9. Ability to manage time and organize effectively with multiple projects.
  10. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  11. Good results orientation and strong work ethic.
