BUNGE has an exciting opportunity available for a SAFETY MANAGER (Temporary Role) in Barcelona. In this role, you will lead the effective safety management and drive the process of improving the level of Safety Culture at the facility and also assure compliance with Local and Bunge safety rules, regulation, standards and introduce sustainable safety solutions and initiatives, which allow mitigating risk related to our production processes & technologies, logistic & maintenance operations and offices jobs present at the site.

Some responsibilities are:

  1. Define, implement and monitor effective process of managing legal compliance and safety management system (ISO 45001).
  2. Translate/deploy Bunge Global & European safety standards into effective and practical local processes, procedures and practices.
  3. Lead the BPS (Bunge Production System) safety pillar.
  4. Lead and drive HOP (Human Organization Performance) approach.
  5. Lead Bunge Stand for Safety campaign on the local level (HPE, Stop.Think.Protect, Scenarios, TBTs, Stand for Safety).
  6. Support the journey of building and reaching the maturity level of safety culture, based on conducted safety culture assessments.
  7. Develop, refresh when necessary and sustain an effective process of reporting safety proactive indicators (NM, SW, RC) and embed Safety Pyramid concept in all level organization.
  8. Assure effective process of reporting and investigating accidents and process incidents, support investigations and coach teams on good quality of RCA, perform effective reviews of actions follow up, including the one related to fatal accidents, LTA, PI, HPE NM.
  9. Establish and support Leadership safety skills, coach them and assure they can be effectively leading safety in their respective areas of responsibility.
  10. Conduct regular safety inspections/walk the talk and coach local leaders on that particular skills and behavior.
  11. Analyze the needs for safety Training, deliver safety training and follow up on effectiveness.
  12. Follow up of GRC inspections (fire, boiler & machinery, infrared) and assure proper fire fighting and Atex compliance and effective management of identified areas of improvements.
  13. Support Bunge Process Safety approach and follow on EPSA audits.
  14. Define the process, support and follow up on Job Hazards Analysis.
  15. Actively participate on the safety planning of projects and ensure safe execution with the implementation of Bunge Global Construction Safety Standard. Coordinate the work of construction safety coordinators.
  16. Participate in Fatality Prevention Audit and follow up on identified areas of improvements of FPA conducted in the site.
  17. Develop and assure effectiveness of contractor’s management system, including the auditing process.
  18. Support/justify CAPEX projects for Safety, implementation of Bunge Construction Safety Standard from planning, execution and closing for all the projects in the facility.
  19. Actively participate in safety networking within Bunge organization (calls, IBM connection, exchanging best practices on safety, etc.).
  20. Perform effective reviews of actions follow up, including the one related to fatal accidents, LTA, PI, HPE.
  21. Develop and implement safety innovations and new safety Initiatives, which can strengthen local safety culture.

We are looking for different skills in our ideal candidate:

  1. University degree from the related field of study.
  2. Experience in OHSAS 18001 & ISO 45001.
  3. +/- 5 years of experience in safety position in the production facility of international organization.
  4. Knowledge about safety culture and modern safety.
  5. Good command of both written and spoken English.
  6. Able to travel when required.
  7. Problem solving skills, planning and organization as well as analytical thinking capability.
  8. Ability to work in a team and strong interpersonal skills.
  9. Result oriented, ability to make decisions and influence others.
  10. Leadership skills and experience.
