Master and Reference Data Specialist

hace 3 semanas

Pamplona, España Siemens Gas and Power GmbH & Co. KG A tiempo completo

As a Master and Reference Data Management Specialist, you are part of our growing Data & Artificial Intelligence team within our Digital Core function, where we work together on supporting the wider needs and demands from the business, transforming the way we think of data and embedding data management in our key deliveries across all areas of the energy industry. In this fast-paced environment, you will assist your team in driving pragmatically and efficiently the effort to complete the documentation of master and reference data sources in the SE Data Catalog for all data domains. Enabling a clear inventory of data sources across the Siemens Energy data landscape, helping the Data Excellence and Data Governance team to identify opportunities for certification and harmonization; driving further our ambition to identify and declare authoritative data sources. In your role you will lead the implementation and embedding of Master Data Management best practices and the assurance processes to guarantee all master data and reference data are created and managed appropriately for the benefit of the enterprise.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  1. You will be the leader expert for Master and Reference Data Management at Siemens Energy, leading a roadmap in service of identification of master and reference data sources and the processes to manage, certify and subscribe to them.
  2. You will explain with confidence what master and reference data is, demonstrating your area of expertise by providing clear rationale and supportive examples to help overcome conflicts on other people’s understanding and interpretation of data governance concepts.
  3. You will advise and guide the data governance roles in the identification of master and data reference data in their domains, developing their skills to achieve these tasks independently.
  4. You will support the active documentation of master and reference data in the SE Data Catalog (Collibra), and develop the processes and materials so this task is performed effectively by the data governance roles.
  5. You will support and advise on best practices, and document requirements for the SE Data Catalog where new and/or enhancements to the existing capability to capture relevant metadata for master and reference data are required.
  6. You will support the creation of documentation and ‘how to’ guides that explain step by step how to execute the activities in service of Master and Reference Data Management, in alignment with the Data Management Enterprise Process.
  7. You will coach others, in particular key data governance roles, to confidently describe and own their master and reference datasets; helping and guiding them to use the SE data catalog successfully in the documentation and mapping of their sources.
  8. You will support the testing and assurance of capability delivery in the SE Data Catalog in service of enabling the execution of the activities and processes that enable master and reference data management, including approval and maintenance of these assets in the catalog.
  9. You will gather and document requirements on behalf of the Data Excellence team, so data or digital initiatives aimed to drive enterprise-wide data harmonization have the required functional requirements in scope for the adequate setup and management of master and reference data.
  10. You will analyze and test the effectiveness of existing and new MDM processes and controls, when any master and reference data is in scope of a digital initiative, contributing to the design, changes, and implementation of such controls and processes, being pragmatic and hands-on.
  11. You will gather lessons learned and recommend how to improve our ‘ways of working’ with our domains, business, and digital core colleagues, supporting the effort for a sustainable audit mechanism that proactively assures the progress made by the data governance roles; and helps them maintain high-quality data and metadata.
What You Bring - Your Skills, Capabilities
  1. University degree in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a related field.
  2. 10+ years' experience working in Data Management in a large organization (preferably) driving Master Data Management within a complex data landscape.
  3. Excellent communicator, able to explain data governance concepts with clear examples that bring the concept to life and facilitate the enablement of data governance roles and bring them into the journey to become MDM experts themselves.
  4. Specialist in designing and implementing Master Data Management; but has experience or very good understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality Management, Metadata Management, Enterprise Data architecture and Data security practices.
  5. Understands how the technology and application landscape is managed in large organizations, and as such has experience designing processes and understanding of design principles to further embed data management in how we further build and improve that landscape, and the collaboration channels that shape it.
  6. Strong facilitation skills with the ability to drive progress and find solutions to issues; excellent communicator and confident presenter. Proactive to reach out and work with the data governance roles to support their goals and deliver their data initiatives.
  7. Experience implementing and using master data management solutions e.g. SAP MDG, and other data management solutions such as Data Catalog(s) (ideally Collibra) and Data Quality tools.
  8. Proven track record of operating within large data governance programs, with expert understanding of existing data management frameworks and best practices, but able to pragmatically apply these.
  9. Remain flexible to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.
  10. Excellent written and oral communication.
