In this position, the Senior R&D Engineer will utilize advanced technical skills to help the team tackle complex challenges, meet customer needs, and achieve development goals.You'll be part of an energetic Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Marketplace team, contributing to shaping the future of cloud computing accessibility.   • Participate in planning, architecture, and research
  • Conduct complex development activities that may involve in-depth analysis in areas such as user experience, software design, and system architecture
  • Apply best practices and help uphold them through technical reviews and mentoring
  • Perform comprehensive bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products
  • Investigate issues identified by QA or product support and develop solutions
  • Research and comprehend the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria, and competitive concerns. Collaborate with strategic customers or proxies to evaluate needs and devise solutions
  • Work independently with minimal oversight and may assume some planning and mentoring tasks
  • May oversee interns or co-ops but typically does not manage direct reports
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years of experience, MS with 3 years of experience
  • Professional experience with software design and development methodologies
  • Professional experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, REST API
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Thorough understanding of computer science fundamentals
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Linux operating system internals
  • Extensive experience configuring and managing Linux systems in a cloud environment
  • Experience with virtual machines, containers, and orchestration platforms/tools
  • Practical exposure to automation/configuration tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet...)
  • Knowledge of server hardware components, especially in an HPC environment
  • Familiarity with common networking protocols and remote visualization protocols
  • Technical proficiency in web development, object-oriented design, software configuration management, scripting languages, data structures, and algorithms
  • Passion for crafting robust and efficient code
  • Track record of delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development setting
  • Understanding of customer requirements and tools utilized in this field
  • Ability to diagnose and address issues spanning multiple layers of abstraction
  • Strong sense of ownership
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate within a geographically dispersed team
