About Us
Second Life is an international environmental NGO specializing in implementing cutting-edge technology to clean up waste - we currently run operations from Spain, England, Germany and the Czech Republic. Our current project is implementing drones and AI on Spain's south coast to monitor maritime & coastal pollution, to demonstrate to European Environmental bodies that we can more effectively clean beaches by identifying high-trash density areas. Using a fleet of drones launched from land and sea, coupled with AI software to map, track and categorize each individual piece of rubbish, we are able to deploy our beach cleanup teams to collect plastic waste far more quickly, efficiently and effectively than through conventional methods, ensuring that Europe's shores remain rubbish-free.
About the Role
This role is an two month internship with our organization onsite in Valencia, Spain, commencing immediately. You will be filming, editing and uploading video content to our social media channels to drive engagement, awareness, publicity and growth. If successful in this role, you may be offered full or part time opportunities to run and social media content production with our organization. We estimate that the time commitment will be 10-15 hours per week.
What we Offer
We are a young, vibrant and dynamic team which prides itself on our exemplary company culture. We host regular beach days, boat tours on the organization's sailboat, company parties, networking opportunities and industry conferences within the environmental sector. As mentioned, depending on success within this role, we may be willing to offer full or part time roles on a more permanent basis. Furthermore, in the case of extreme success with our social media campaigns, we are willing to offer a share of the profits from social media revenue.
Requirements
A working camera (phone acceptable if 3+ lenses variant)Demonstrable experience creating content for social media English language communication skillsA passion for environmental protectionBased in Valencia and willing to be onsiteDesirableExperience or education in film making, marketing or photography. A professional camera (DSLR or Video Camera)A passionate, can-do attitudeWillingness to also contribute to beach cleaning activities is a plus.
