Chief Accountant/Senior Accountant Role

Catenon is seeking a highly skilled Chief Accountant/Senior Accountant to join our team in Barcelona, Spain. This key role will be the focal point for finance & accounting activities in the country.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead Month-End Close (MEC) Activities: Oversee and ensure timely completion of MEC activities, including preparation and submission of local Spanish statements.
  • Manage Tax Service Providers: Establish and maintain strong relationships with outsourced tax service providers to ensure seamless operations.
  • Annual Closing Process: Lead the annual closing process and ensure accurate financial records and compliance during the financial audit.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise a small accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
  • Financial Record Reconciliation: Reconcile General Ledger (GL), subsidiary ledger, and intercompany settlements to guarantee accurate financial records and compliance.
  • Process Improvements: Continuously identify areas for improvement and implement best practices, including automation solutions and new tools/systems to enhance efficiency of external reporting.
Your Profile:
  • Technical Accounting Expertise: Possess deep technical accounting knowledge of Spanish GAAP.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant or Independent Accountant.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Adaptability: Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language Skills: Fluent English is a must.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with MS Excel and MS Dynamics is an advantage.
