The Regional Key Account Manager for the Madrid area will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Affinity's commercial strategy for clients in the region. You will manage key accounts, build solid and long-term relationships to exploit the full development potential of the Petfood category, and maximize the sales of our brands.

We are looking for someone with experience in key account management, with drive and energy to exceed set objectives while acting as a Category Captain, leading the development of the Petfood category. This role requires strategic vision, strong interpersonal skills, a growth mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and ownership.

What you will do

  1. Develop and execute account plans for each key client, aligned with the company's overall objectives.
  2. Negotiate commercial agreements, sales conditions, promotions, and marketing plans with key accounts, seeking mutual benefit and profitability.
  3. Monitor commercial KPIs (sell-in / sell-out, market share, assortment share, shelf space, promotional intensity) and identify opportunities for improvement.
  4. Manage the full P&L of clients.
  5. Act as a partner to develop the category: Category Management, Perfect Store, JBPs.
  6. Establish and maintain solid, trusting relationships with key contacts within assigned accounts (buyers, category managers, marketing).
  7. Identify and explore new business opportunities within existing accounts to increase product penetration and range offered.
  8. Present new products, innovations, and strategies to key accounts to generate sales and add value.
  9. Collaborate with Marketing and Trade Marketing departments on promotional plans and POS activities.
  10. Develop and monitor sales forecasts for key accounts.
  11. Coordinate with various departments to ensure proper execution of account plans and customer satisfaction.
  12. Communicate key account needs and demands across the organization.

What we are looking for

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or similar; postgraduate or Master's valued.
  2. Proven experience in key account management in FMCG, with a background in Trade Marketing and Field areas, ideally 3-5 years.
  3. Residence in Madrid / Central Region preferred; open to other locations like Barcelona.
  4. Solid understanding of the FMCG channel in Spain, experience negotiating with large accounts, knowledge of Trade Marketing, KPIs, and proficiency in Office tools.
  5. Key competencies include excellent communication, negotiation, results orientation, entrepreneurial and growth mindset, leadership, strategic thinking, relationship-building, proactivity, organization, and teamwork skills.
  6. Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
  7. Willingness to travel nationally and possess a valid B driving license.
