Candidates must have a PhD or MD with an interest in cellular/molecular cardiovascular or gut research. Eligible candidates should email a CV including publications and the names of 3 professional references, and a brief statement of research with career plan to ****** RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary responsibility is to design and perform benchwork independently to study role of lipid metabolism in the areas of endothelial dysfunction and of gut disease. Research in our lab employs state-of-the-art techniques using human and rodent cell culture methods, conditional knockout mouse models, RNAseq, proteomics, spatial transcriptomics and confocal microscopy.Harvest animal tissue for histological processing or molecular and biochemical analyses.Design and perform gain- and loss-of-function cell culture studies.Perform molecular and biochemical analyses, such as PCR, qRT-PCR, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy imaging, gene cloning, gene silencing, luciferase assays, etc.Provide training to junior pre-doctoral students.Organize, analyze, and interpret research data. Compile results for presentation at group meetings and scientific conferences.Prepare grants and proposals for agency funding. Prepare manuscripts for publication.Work independently to execute hands-on experiments and analyze data.Drive multiple exploratory projects, and work collaboratively with multi-functional teams.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSRecent Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology, metabolism, physiology, or a related field.Expertise in vascular/lymphatic biology, immunology and microscopy, and have deep experience in development and efficacy readouts of mouse models.Prior hands-on experience with cell culture techniques, basic molecular biology techniques, and a working experience with maintaining a small animal colony, breeding, and genotyping is required.Strong hands-on expertise in both in vitro cell-based endothelial assays and in vivo animal models.Strong track record demonstrated in the context of driving target discovery and validation projects and reflected in a strong record of achievement in peer-reviewed publications.Ability to work in a team environment.Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.Ability and trouble shooting and data analysis.Solid skills in molecular/cell biology and biochemistry
