Liver Disease Unit
Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution, located in Barcelona (Spain) that promotes

Education and qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Bioinformatics ESCI-UPF, with a Master in Genetics and Genomics, and Master in Translational

Biomedical Research offered by VHIR. People with the PhD defended or submitted will not be accepted.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Bioinformatics ESCI-UPF
  • Master Degree in Genetics and Genomics
  • Developing an Internship of Master in Translational Biomedical Research
  • Experience in deepsequencing using MiSeq and nextDeq2000 platform
  • Experience in deepsequencing viral data analysis in metagenomics
  • Experience in integration of multiomics datasets

  • Experience in synthetic biology, constructing genetic circuits
  • Minimum of five papers published or submitted in peerreviewed journals including reviews
  • A stay at a research center abroad will be valued

Experience and knowledge:

Experience in more than one research laboratory

Having experienced in deep-sequence using MiSeq platform
Experience in RNA extraction, RT-PCR-Nested amplification, purification, quality and quantity

measurements
Experience in deep-sequencing viral data analysis using metagenomic tools and own developed algorithms
Experience in integration of multi-omics datasets
Experience in synthetic biology, constructing genetic circuits
Own initiative, enthusiasm and commitment for the work to be developed.
Capability to integrate into our research group.

Main responsibilities and duties:

Specific Tasks: 1) Metagenomics sequencing of different samples from human and animal origin to detect all RNA
and DNA genomes 2) Data analysis. 3) Development of algorithms for the analysis of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine escape
mutants. 4) Development of an interface user-friendly.

Labour conditions:

  • Working hours: 30 hours/week.
  • Incorporation date: May, 16th, 202
  • Gross annual salary: 19000€. Remuneration will be reevaluated among completion of objectives
  • Contract: _permanent linked to project_
