AccountabilitiesAs a Senior Informatics Scientist within Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (DS&AI), based at our growing Barcelona site, you will be developing software for both one-time analysis and robust, widely used scientific tools and systems.
Applying an understanding of biology, drug discovery and computer science, you will work with colleagues in DS&AI, across R&D and beyond to understand biology, accelerate the discovery of new therapeutics and develop new technologies.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Bachelors Degree level or equivalent number of years of experience in science based education essential, postgraduate education in science, bioinformatics/system biology or computer science a plus.
Demonstrable ability to create high quality software.
Scientifically literate. Able to pick up new ideas and concepts quickly.
Hands on experience with research and handling & analysis of scientific datasets a distinct advantage.
Ability to create new data analysis or algorithms as part of a wider project.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and scientific colleagues alike, in formal presentations and small group meetings.
Thoroughness and tenacity in solving problems.
Experience working in the pharma/biotech industry or in biological academic research is an advantage.
