This role involves collaborating with multiple teams to create precise cost models and negotiation tools to optimize spending and enhance efficiency throughout our operations. Your experience in working with diverse global teams and effectively communicating with stakeholders is vital. We are searching for exceptionally talented individuals to contribute to digital innovation in Procurement Cost Engineering.

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Procurement Technical Advisor, Cost Engineering, who will lead cost engineering and digital optimization initiatives in various procurement categories like Packaging, Services, Robotics, and Freight. The ideal candidate has a background in procurement or cost engineering, coupled with experience in data and digital innovation. Alternatively, the candidate could be a mechanical engineer with expertise in industrial processes and a profound understanding of cost drivers, ideally with experience in supplier negotiations. Strong leadership skills, project management abilities, and effective communication skills are essential for this role. Ideal candidates excel in fast-paced, dynamic, and results-oriented environments.

Basic qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement categories and benchmark technologies
  • Experience in should costing including work breakdown structure and comparative analysis
  • Proficiency in IT systems, especially advanced Excel
  • Expertise in cost management software
  • Ability to present and influence effectively at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred qualifications:
  • MSc. / MBA
  • Experience in data visualization tools like QuickSight or PowerBI
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Deep understanding of procurement processes and cost engineering
  • Contract negotiation experience
  • Results-driven with a focus on delivery

Key job responsibilities:
  • Develop procurement cost-engineering roadmap and establish should-costing for various categories
  • Create reliable bottom-up cost models and should-cost targets in collaboration with category managers
  • Support tender processes and supplier negotiations from a cost engineering perspective
  • Ensure alignment between supplier quotations and cost estimates
  • Advise on cost implications of specification changes
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive cost improvements
  • Provide cost information to support management decisions
  • Track performance and drive improvement through cost engineering KPI's and dashboards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in program or project management
  • Supply chain experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology
  • Proficiency in MS Access and SQL
  • Expertise in requirement gathering and documentation
