THE ROLE


WiseEnergy is seeking to significantly change the nature of the solar operations & maintenance ("O&M") market and is seeking a full time Strategic Contracts Manager.


The role will report into the Managing Director of Global Client Management and work closely with the Global Technical Operations Manager, who is responsible for driving the performance of the entire portfolio under WiseEnergy's management, and the Commercial & Strategic Projects Manager.


Working with the wider Technical Operations and Commercial teams, the role will be focused on driving relationships with our third party subcontractors in order to create win/win situations that improve plant performance, drive innovation and takes advantage of technological change and digitalisation to achieve maximum revenues and profit for our clients' portfolios.


In particular, the Strategic Contracts Manager would provide support and assistance in contract interpretation and understanding as well as building build relationships with O&Ms and EPCs that drive long term partnerships and harmonious ways of working that work for all parties.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

GENERAL

  • Develop and manage positive relationships with O&M contractors / other related service providers and customer interface on technical issues, supporting Technical Analysts to resolve conflicts;
  • Work with Technical Analysts to ensure all O&Ms / other technical service providers achieve excellent outcomes
  • Support with the preparation, issue and tracking of Pay-Less, Breach and Liquidated Damages notices;
  • Negotiate and manage the placement of new O&M and related contracts, supporting the Commercial and Strategic Projects Manager on developing company O&M strategy;
  • Review and manage Engineering, Procurement & Construction ("EPC") contracts and commercial discussions relating to progressing and closing Intermediate and Final Acceptance Certification ("IAC" and "FAC"), including issuance of Notice of Defects, working with internal/external legal & technical advisor support where required and presenting projects to clients for formal FAC signoff.
  • Ensure the effective tracking of Share Purchase Agreement ("SPA") obligations for newly acquired assets and lead on the resolution of claims in relation to the SPA;
  • Support on warranty claim negotiations;
  • Operate the company's inhouse asset management platform ("AMP") to reflect O&M and EPC information as required
  • Ad hoc commercial and technical projects
  • Cultivate and foster a culture of quality, effectiveness and efficiency;
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements;
  • Support the WiseEnergy team in establishing and maintaining an environment of internal control, cohesion and integrity;

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 35 years experience as an Asset Manager/O&M Manager/similar in the renewable energy market, preferably solar
  • Bachelor's Degree (e.g., Engineering, Law, Environmental Science, Economics, etc.)
  • Good understanding of contract law
