The Site IT Infrastructure Engineer's role is to support infrastructure operational and build capabilities for our business units in our Barcelona Palafolls site and be the custodian of the IT Infrastructure on the ground.


This is a unique opportunity to be part of our dynamic and innovative Technology team and to build something new from scratch.


Major Accountabilities

  • Ensure that local teams and vendors deliver maintenance, troubleshooting and service delivery according to Sandoz standards
  • Act as interface between local service requests and the global horizontal delivery teams
  • Communicate and establish upcoming IT Infrastructure changes to the local communities.
  • Provide consolidated feedback about IT Infrastructure services to the horizontal delivery teams
  • Support and ensure compliance to defined IT Governance controls, standards, and practices.
  • Accountable for managing suppliers as applicable in ensuring they deliver quality services and meet all contractual obligations. Tracks actual utilization of services and reporting of supplier performance in meeting business service expectations and service levels.

Competencies

  • IT Infrastructure Management
  • IT Service Management Practices (ITIL Foundation Certification)
  • Compliance, Risk Management (GxP: sound knowledge of validation practice and IT control standards
  • Systems Integration & Build (Dev-Ops mindset and full solution lifecycle understanding from idea to retirement)
  • Hands on experience in managing local business requirements and solving issues on site
  • Customer and service first attitude

  • Local Services are managed within SLA/OLA KPIs
  • Learning Agility, Ability to evaluate and launch new services & capabilities
  • Productivity gains and defect reduction through continuous improvement
  • End User Experience and satisfaction
  • Process and compliance setup is applied and adhered

Ideal Background

Education:

University degree in Computer Science or comparable education

Languages:

Fluent English written and spoken

Experience and Skills:

5 years of IT experience in operations and system management.

More than 5 years of experience in Service Management or Engineering of a local IT infrastructure portfolio across multiple business areas, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry

Track record in delivering local projects on time, quality, and budget
